Narrative Ideas

When planning and deciding upon what we were going to create the opening scenes of a movie about, we came up with several ideas within several genres most of them being of the drama genre as we originally had an idea in our head that we wished to pursue this genre and create a storyline to fit it. These are the top three storyline's that we decided upon out of the various we came up with. Our final three were:

1. Two best friends have to come to terms with the fact that one of them has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, and the adversity in which they will have to overcome because of this potentially terminal diagnosis.

2. Several children get taken over by a mystery cause - which will be revealed at the end of the film- this causes them to rock backwards and forwards and repeat a distorted version of 'round and round the merry go round' spreading until ultimately it causes a widespread national pandemic.

3. A teenage girl discovers that her best friend has been killed in a fatal car crash caused by a drunk driver, who survived, this initial devastating phone call causes her to have flashbacks of their childhood together and some of their favourite memories in a specific place that they visited often. It ends with the title 6 months later showing the same girl dressed in business wear carrying folders, at this point it fades out, as that is where we would end it, if we were going to carry the film on it would be about the girl trying to get justice for her best friend and have some peace of mind that others will hopefully not end up like her best friend due to alcohol related crashes and incidents.

The most people chose narrative idea 3 and that was the idea we were leaning towards anyway, so we will definitely be going with this idea.
We have decided to go on to create idea 3 as it will hopefully evoke the most emotions and show off our media skills to the best of our ability, the initial idea however may be subject to change as we go on with the main task as we may develop problems in filming or come up with ideas to add to it as the project progresses.
