StoryBoard

This was the storyboard that we created several weeks ago, before we had done any filming, but forgot to upload to the blog. Hannah drew the images, and i coloured them and added the annotations.

First draft video feedback

This is our feedback for our first video draft - this was done last week and therefore all filming and editing is not done, so this is just some feedback of how we are doing so far and what we can do to improve when we continue filming and editing.

What we completed last week and Action Plan - Week beginning 17th November 2014

What we completed last week:
- When and where we were going to be filming.
- The emails showing our permission to film at Rockingham Castle.
- The first draft of our film - editing of flashbacks
To to this week:
- Finish textual analysis of similar products.
- Expand upon our theories - link to our own film and what actors we would use if it were to be a real film.
- Finish filming this weekend - if possible.
- Put audience feedback on blog.

Where and When were Filming

We have made the decision to film on several different days as we need to film at different locations. We have already filmed at our first location Rockingham Castle (for which we had permission to film on the grounds. (We have a blog post about acquiring the permission) We filmed on Wednesday 15th October.

We needed a kitchen for the beginning of our narrative, so we shall be filming in my house on Saturday 22nd November, we would have filmed the second part earlier however due to family events and clashing of schedules the only date that both we and our actors could do was a few weeks after filming the first footage, however this gave us time to edit all of the previous footage.

Permission to Film

When deciding on the narrative for our drama film, and when writing the script, we came to a mutual agreement that we needed a location to be the main characters 'childhood favourite place'. We thought that the nearby grounds of the historical monument Rockingham Castle would be the ideal, as the picturesque location would be a fantastic backdrop for predominantly the flashbacks of our film.

Together we made the decision to email Rockingham Castle to see if it would be possible to film their on location and when would be appropriate, these are the series of emails that we conversed with one another. 

This is the original email that we sent them.

They then responded with this.

We replied a few days later as we had to organise with our actors when would be a suitable time for us all.

To which they replied almost immediately with:

We went on to film on the grounds, the staff at the estate office were understanding and made sure that we knew it was ok to return at a later date if we needed to re-film anything, and to make sure that we sent it to them when we were finished as well as crediting them in our work, which we planned on doing so anyway.

First Film Draft

This is our first draft of our main task - we have only filmed the flashbacks, current day footage is what we need to film next.
We have permission to the music The Awakening from Chris Haigh and Imagen Productions London.
