Edit decision list
We had re-film several times as the transitions and techniques were not smooth and precise. All the footage that we used came from the third time that we filmed.
We took several films of the same scene each time we filmed so that we could choose the best shots, sometimes we only filmed once as we were happy with the filming and we didn't believe that we could do it any better.
In the end we did not have to do too much editing, as the initial filming was of good quality.

Preliminary planning
Actors – Vanessa Winkler and Abigail Buckland
Setting and why – An empty dance studio as it was a quite place so we can clearly hear what they were saying and
there was no background disruptions. There was no one to interrupt the dialogue that would be said. We used the corridors and doors as they fit in with the preliminary brief and meant we can achieve a strong quality match on action.
Sequence - 2 establishing shots showing the locations, long shot showing Abigail walking down corridor and then match on action, continued match on action when walking and opening doors to reach location, two shots of actors and over the shoulder shots then showing shot reverse shot, two shot of both actors and then long shot showing Vanessa exiting.

Script for Preliminary Task
Script - This was created with Hannah Ginns
Person 1: Hi, how are you?
Person 2: I’m good thanks, what about you?
Person 1: Great thank you, did you watch x-factor last
night?
Person 2: Yes, of course, who was your favourite?
Person 1: Jake Quickenden, his singing was so good, did you
see that crazy lady who called herself Lady C or whatever she was so weird.
Person 2: Yeah, I remember her, I thought she called herself
Queen C anyway she was slightly deluded thinking she was the British version of
Lady Gaga.
Person 1: Yeah, definitely, I cannot believe some peoples
family think that there children are amazing and would let them go on the show,
there just making a fool of themselves.
Person 2: I know you think that the parents would tell them
that there not good enough to make it, save them the embarrassment as I would
rather here from my parents that I’m not good instead of going on national
television and looking stupid in front of the whole nation.
Person 1: Yeah, I know what you mean but at the same time
I’m sure some of the contestants are simply to stubborn and hard headed to
listen to there parents and would do it anyway and I’m sure any parent is just
trying to be supportive of there child.
Person 2: I think if I had a child I would be supportive no
matter what.
Person 1: Me too, so what did you do this weekend?
Person 2: I went out
for a meal you?
Person 1: Oh was it nice, I went to the cinema.
Person 2: Yeah it was thanks, what did you go and see, was
it any good?
Person 1: The Hundred Feet Journey and yeah, it was
different but interesting, it had Helen Miram in it.
Person 2: Oh, I think I saw the trailer for that, is it the
one directed by Oprah Winhrey and Steven Spielberg.
Person 1: Yeah, that’s the one, have you seen any films
recently?
Person 2: Yeah, I went to see Let’s be Cops.
Person 1: Was it any good, I’ve heard its funny?
Person 2: Yeah, it was really good, the plot line was better
than I thought, you should definitely watch it.
Person 1: Maybe, yeah normally those types of films don’t
have the best story lines.
Person 2: I agree, you doing anything tonight?
Person 1: I don’t have anything planned yet why?
Person 2: Do you want to come for mine for dinner, you
haven’t been round in ages, we could work on the English homework after food.
Person 1: Yeah sure my Mum will be fine with it, I forgot
about that homework we should do it together if we have time and have a general
catch up.
Person 2: Sounds like a plan, so I’ll see you tonight?
Person 1: Ok, what time should I come round at?
Person 2: About five and you can go home whenever.
Person 1: Ok, see you then
Person 2: Alright I’m going to go home and get ready, bye!
[person 2 exits]
In the end, when we came to filming we decided to not stick
to the script as it sounded false and scripted, so we had the actors make up
and improvise in what they were saying as this created a natural feel and made
the transitions between scenes smoother.
